Results from the girls golf All American Conference season opener held at Stryker Golf Course Tuesday.
FORT BRAGG — The Triton girls golf team left Tuesday's league opener at Stryker Golf Course in a familiar position – finishing first place among the schools competing from the newly-formed All American Conference.
Neva Chance is one of two seniors returning to the Lady Hawks this season. Chance tied Triton newcomer Sue Anna Bass with a 9-over-par 45, through nine holes, to help pace the winning effort.
Senior Tristan Ennis (50) and first-year player Abby Hood (63) rounded out the scoring for Triton, won the event with a team total of 140.
Western Harnett freshman Jewel Gilchrist-Lopez carded the lowest round of the day, shooting a 7-over 43 take top medalist honors. Lexi Norwood was the second-lowest scorer among Lady Eagles players, posting a 65 to help Western to a 176 team total.
Pine Forest took second in the team standings, finishing with an overall score of 152.
The teams are back in action for another conference event on Monday, Aug. 30 at Keith Hills Golf Course.
