‘Wizard of Oz’ on stage through Feb. 13

Cape Fear Regional Theatre presents the “Wizard of Oz” on the Fayetteville stage at 1209 Hay St. with live shows and special events now through Feb. 13.

Opening weekend performances are sold out. But the show returns Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. with a Military Appreciation Night performance by the Ruby Youth Cast. Members of the U.S. Armed Forces will get 25% off ticket prices that night.

Socially-distanced performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, and 2 p.m. on Feb. 5.

Educator Appreciation Night will be held at 7:30 Friday, Jan. 28, with teachers getting a 25% discount on tickets.

Shows will be held each night Wednesday-Saturday between now and Feb. 12 at 7:30 with 2 p.m. matinees each Saturday and Sunday through Feb. 13.

An Over the Rainbow Night will begin at 6:45 Feb. 3 with guests encouraged to wear their best rainbow-inspired outfits to compete for a Best Dressed prize before the show starts at 7:30.

A sensory friendly performance will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6.

And a contest between “Good Witch, Bad Witch” will be held at 6:45 p.m. before the show on Thursday, Feb. 10. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink for Team Glinda or green for Team Wicked Witch to compete for the Best Dressed prize of the night.

The Emerald Youth Cast will perform the shows Friday-Sunday and Feb. 2-Feb. 6. The Ruby Youth Cast takes the stage in shows Jan. 26-30 and Feb. 9-13.

For the safety of casts, crews, staff and audience members, masks will be required upon entry to the building and concessions will not be sold.

The box office is open at 1209 Hay St., Fayetteville, between 1 and 6 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and opens an hour before showtimes on Saturdays and Sundays.
